Teaching
I have had the opportunity to teach a variety of courses during my graduate studies and have the ability and interest in teaching other courses related to linguistics and the German language and culture. Please find an overview of these various types of courses below. Example syllabi and a complete list of courses taught can also be found below.
Language courses
I have taught a variety of introductory and intermediate German-language courses, including first- through fourth-semester language courses and intermediate composition and grammar course.
culture courses
I have also taught general education (German) culture courses and am also prepared to teach higher level culture courses in both English and German, covering topics such as German literature, the Holocaust, and the Amish.
Online & Summer courses
In addition to semester-long courses, I have also taught online, as well as intensive language and linguistics courses over the summer, e.g., for students wishing to learn the German quickly for academic and/or professional purposes.
linguistics courses
I have taught a variety of linguistics courses, including general introductory courses and a course on socio-linguistics, and could similarly offer more specialized courses on topics such as language contact, historical linguistics, and typlogy.
